Random pictures and thoughts from the holiday season!

I'd thought I'd post a few random pictures since I'm so behind on posting and thoughts on each! Maybe ~ just one day I'll get caught up and post recent pics :) .....
The above pictures are adorable pics of Lexi with two General Hospital superstars!! Johnny and Lucky ( I waited so long to post pics~ Lucky is now the old Lucky with the old/now new Lucky in his place!!) We had a blast at Soap Nation at Billy Bobs! What a great day!!!

January 19, 2010

I still haven't kept up with my New Year's Resolution to blog daily!! But the year isn't over yet! I need to get some of my new layouts posted as well as the jewelry I have been creating! I'm trying to get enough of an inventory togehter to put some on my Etsy page! The teachers at school have been my best customers :)
We had the day off today! Lexi and I enjoyed some shopping and lunch at Central Market~ what a fun day!
The long weekend has been wonderful! It started off Friday evening with a group of 12 ladies from school over to craft! We created marble coasters with some great images~ I did a "Paris theme!" We also created our "2010 Dream Boards!" It was the most fun enjoying fun times and crafting with a lovely group of ladies. I can't wait for our next craft night! We have successfully met in January and February~ hopefully we can keep it up. We were even able to convince mom to spend the night~ a sleepover party!
Shopping and a trip to Cedar Hill filled our day on Saturday with the 4 generations! Loved the fun.
Another one of my goals for 2010 is to get on a design team~ so I'm trying to get some of my work posted and keep my blog updated regularly! We will see. I just found out there is an Art Event in Dallas in February~ how fun! I'm not sure we can make it but at least the art world is trickling to Texas~I'm not sure how Utah and Nebraska even Georgia has gotten the art world to locate in their area! :)
Talk to you soon! Sweet dreams!

Merry Christmas

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted :( I was determined to keep my blog updated regularly and post pictures of my creations!!)
I have had a very busy few months. I'll try to recap a bit!
October was filled with Lexi's Birthday day party and Halloween fun~ Lexi was the cutest Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz ever!!
November will busy will crafting, Gig's birthday and Thanksgiving! I decided to get my jewelry together for a craft show in Aledo the first weekend of December! I did it!! It was very successful and a lot of fun! I also sold quite a bit of jewelry to the teachers at school! I love that my little endeavor is finally getting out of the starting gate!
I'm trying to decide what my next step is for my jewlery making~ I'm thinking of getting a booth at the local antique mall??? We will see! Maybe I will post some of my stuff on Etsy!
I'm also really wanting to begin teaching some altered art classes! I had my first "craft day" last Tuesday with a group of about 8 ladies from school. We were able to create a domino necklace, a cross plaque and a altered bird box! We had a great time and can't wait to get together again~~ I had many more crafts planned for the day~ we worked way toooo slow! Lots of fun talking and chatting!
Christmas was wonderful~ Lexi had another wonderful Christmas!! She got all that her heart desired! One of her favorite gifts was a lovely engraved compact that my dear friend Grace in New York sent to her~~ she loves it and has shown everyone!! Grace had given me one during out October swap and Lexi loved it... so wanted to take mine even with the "J" initial. She was sooo surprised when she found one in her stocking! Thanks again Grace!! Your a doll!
We even had a "White Christmas!" It was beautiful! It did put a damper on our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day plans but it was great fun! I even convinced Gig and mom to spend the night on Christmas Eve~ it was a great night and morning! I think we should have a white christmas each year!!
Yesterday I got to visit with my high school girl friend that now lives in New York~ we had a great time. We had lunch at Mercardo Juarez and just had a great afternoon visiting and catching up!
I will post pictures soon!
I'm wanting to get a "Paper Doll journal" swap started this month! I have some artists that I love their work that I would really like to join~ we will see... I will send emails out soon!
My 1st New Years Resolution will be to blog daily!!! My inspiration is Theresa McFayden's blog and Nienie Diary and quite a few others... I love Jessica and Jennifer's blogs! My 2nd New Years Resolution will be to actually attend Silver Bella this year. Mom, Lexi and I had planned on going last year but with David's hospital stay~ we missed registration!!! Hopefully this will be the year of Silver Bella!!
Talk to you soon!
Happy Holidays!

My Scrapbook Room! I love it :)

Another thing on my to-do list was to post pictures of my scraproom! I finally got them uploaded to Flicker today!

Let me tell you a bit about my Scrap room and I will post one or two pictures here and you can see my slide show for the rest.

I totally adore anything vintage~ especially vintage dolls and postcards. I have so many of my own vintage dolls so they are mixed in with the ones I have picked up the past few years at antique stores and Canton!

My scraproom has 3 desks~ one for my computer/printer/Cricut! The top is covered with vintage "stuff" I love it!! One desk houses my soldering stuff! Above that desk is a bulletin board from Potter Barn that I have filled with family photos~ I love it! My colors are pink, teal and lime green. My 3rd desk is my scrap desk~ it is really large and painted my favorite color pink! David bought it for me last year for my Birthday! It is really great! It also houses my sewing machine and glitters. I have a corner shelf filled with "stuff!" I have a small bookcase that has my most current scraping and altered art books and magazines! Tons of pictures fill the room. I also have a small tv in my room to watch my favorite show~ General Hospital on while I create!! I do so love my scraproom!

I love Raggedy Anne! Celebrate Raggedy Anne's Birthday!

I had planned to participate in Raggedy Anne's Birthday Blog Party in September but never got around to taking my Raggedy Anne photos! Well... being home with Lexi the past few days I finally got them done. I love Raggedy Anne and Andy! My first birthday~ many, many years ago was Raggedy Anne themed! I did Lexi's 1st Birthday in the same Raggedy Anne theme! It was so cute! I took photos of all of my Raggedy's and all of Lexi's Raggedy's! We have quite the collection. I'm working on an altered Raggedy Anne craft~ maybe I will finish tomorrow and can post pics of it as well! I'll post a few pictures here and the others are in my flicker slide show!

Lexi's Sweet 13 "Breakfast at Tiffany's Birthday party!"

We celebrated Lexi's 13th Birthday with a "Breakfast at Tiffany's~ Audrey Hepburn" Birthday party with the cousins! We had a nice afternoon! The decorations, craft (collaged frame), cake and friendships worked out great! Lexi is celebrating with her girlfriends from school next weekend at a Dallas Hotel, Dallas Restaurant and day of shopping! I think Lexi's birthday was great! We got the sign in our town painted or fabriced :) Lexi wanted zebra themed with pink writing! So we put up fabric and used hot pink duct tape~ quite creative if I do say so myself!! She got pink roses on the morning of her birthday and the flu on the evening of her birthday :( So her girlfriend party had to be moved to next weekend! Not so fun but all in all a great 13th Birthday!

Lexi's Birthday and Sweet and Sinister Swap

I really wanted to post regularly but life simply got in the way!!! I'm home today with my little one (my 13 year old little one!) Her birthday was Wednesday and she got the flu as a surprise :(
Yuk!!
I finished up my Black and White Sweet and Sinister Swap this week and got it mailed out on the due date~ October 1st! Why I always redo my swaps the week they are do rather than mailing early is crazy!!! I hope Grace likes what she gets! I'm going to post some sneek peeks later today! I think it turned out cute! On Monday evening I found a super cute black and white cigar box that I just had to alter and use in my swap!!! I had found a great pair of vintage gloves a few weeks back and found a way to brighten up the presentation of them~~~ "Diamonds are a girls best friend!" It was so fun! I can't wait for Grace to get it in the Big Apple~ It had guarantee delivery in 2 days which I just realized is Saturday and I mailed it to her work :( So she probably won't get it until Monday!!
I'll be back to post pictures later!
