May's Magnificent Art Afternoon
May 1st 2:00-4:30pmStart out the month great... Creating!!

Project #1:
Shadowbox HouseGirls will create a shadowbox dollhouse filled with memories of childhood & celebrating being a girl!
We will even leave a few of the openings empty for the girls to add in their own treasures and memorabilia later. The girls may even go back and add in their own favorite photos of themselves or their favorite "Mom & Me" pictures.
We will personalize with each girls name stamped on the hanging flags.

Project #2:
Mother's Day CardGirls will create a special and meaningful Mother's Day or Grandmother's Card. We will do a bit of "Paper Sewing" on the real sewing machine!

**I've had a few moms inquire about a Mom/Daughter Event.. This class will lend itself well for that. Moms may join us and create your own shadowbox and card. Mom's color palette will be creams~ a bit more Shabby chic! **

We will have a brief break with light snacks and lemonade to add into our fun!

Cost is $60.00 per girl. Moms can join their daughter for an additional $40.00.

Catching up on Swap Posts!

I'm still waiting on a few pictures of the different swaps from this year but I thought I would go ahead and work on my blog posts!
January began with a bang with the Altered Bottle Swap~ so cute they were!! Loved them. ((1 to 1))
February the birds flew in! Love all the birds on my bird tree!! ((I have all these sweet birds on my tree~so I have all the pictures to post!)) ((Group Swap))
March ~ Tussie Mussie swap and I don't have all of the pictures yet! I'm working on gathering those now! ((1 to 1))
April~ Altered Shoe Swap.. (in the creating stage!) Can't wait to see what everyone came up with! ((Group Swap))

Exciting news!

This has been such a fabulous few weeks!
We had an amazing Spring Break~ We took a "Girl's" ((Gig, Mom, Lexi & me)trip to Waco & Austin! Shopping, Scrapbook shopping & Antiquing~ so fun!
Mom, Lexi and I had the opportunity to take a class from Teresa Collins in Frisco! It was amazing! While we were there she commented on my necklace & cuff that I had created using her "Posh" paper line! So.... I was featured on her blog last Saturday!

Last week the book that I've been talking about "Crave~ Ft. Worth" had it's launch! I'm very excited about having a bit about Covered In Glitter~ my jewelry, belt buckles & altered vintage handbags in the book!
I changed the date of my Art Event~ I just simply didn't give everyone enough time to plan.. so I'm back on the horse running fast to get the date set and everything ready for it to take place! Hopefully I can post the new date next week!I'm thinking January! Everyone would have plenty of time to plan and what better Christmas present for the hubby to give you!
I'm planning a Trunk Show/Launch party for next week~ I'll post details tomorrow! I'm thinking Tuesday. I have quite a few new jewelry pieces, vintage handbags & cuffs! I'll also have the Crave book out for sale! It is a great read and you'll find some amazing new boutiques and businesses!
I'm also getting ready for a few Spring Girl's Art Camps before Girl's Summer Art Camp! I'll post details and project photos~ soon.. very soon!

More info on April's Altered Paper Shoe Swap!

A few of you have asked for examples of what type of shoe I'm thinking about!
This is an altered paper shoe swap! Not a real altered shoe!!
You will create your shoe from paper or grungeboard~ just not a real shoe :)
Here is an example of one that I found on Artful Affirmations blog :)
You will create no more than 7! The swap will close at 7.

April 's Swap!

Shoes, Shoes & More Shoes!!!
I am late posting this month's swap!!! But I'm not going to let the month go by and skip a swap!!! This is a swap a month for a year.... I'm so excited about this swap!!! ((The Bird Swap got me a bit behind.. we had some issues getting all the birds to me but the birds are leaving the coop so we can have that swap behind us and pictures will be posted this weekend!!! It was amazing!! Totally worth the wait!!))
So onto April's Swap!
This is a group swap.. ~ I'm going to limit us to 7!
I'm sure you all have seen all of the Altered Paper Shoes out there! I love them! If you haven't~ Google "Paper Shoes"~ there are even tons of video tutorials. I got my inspiration through thumbing through Stampington & Company's Marie's publication from April 2009. I loved Sherry Murphy, Rebecca Stohlman & Connie Stuart's altered paper shoes!
You can create your own pattern or use on on the web to create your paper shoe! If you need me to send you one~ I can do that to!
You will use your vintage papers, wallpapers. jewelry bits, buttons, baubles, lace, trims, mica, glitter, old photos and any other embellishements you can think of to create your shoes.Please punch hole in heel and thread with ribbon or seam binding. We are going to stick with vintage, shabby chic colors! You will create 7 shoes ( please make sure you sign your artwork.
Sign ups begin tonight March 24th~ and will run through March 31st or until we reach 7 Artists!
You will have until April 25th to complete and get your shoes mailed to me:Please try your very best to stick to the date~~ I know I look really forward to getting my swaps on time and it just stresses us all if we are late! I know situations arise.. but pretty please try!
I'm thinking this will be super fun!!!!

Birds are flying in!

How exciting!
The birds are beginning to fly in! I have received Heather B's birds and Jacie's! Both are adorable!! I can't wait to see the rest! As soon as I receive them all~ I'll get them sent to everyone ASAP! The boxes are all ready to go~ they are just waiting on the birds!

3 more sets of birds arrived today! They are gorgeous! I got Hope's, Jill's & Stephanie's!! Thank you ladies~ for all the extra goodies :)

January's Bottle Swap Pictures.

The January Bottle Swap was amazing! I loved, loved, loved my bottle that I received from Hope Ellington! My bottle is amazing~ such a cute bottle with a darling frozen charlotte doll head on top! She is so me! I found it amazing that Hope and I both used frozen charlotte doll heads on our bottles :) So cool!
All of the bottles are amazing!
